the only poem i'll ever write of you

by: Stacy

i've never attempted to dip my pen in your essence so i could scribble you onto paper with horizontal blue bars to keep you there i won't try to simplify you into letters and words i won't try to dissect and organize you with commas to make you easier to read i'll spare you my verbal madness my hours of insomnia i'll leave your long limbs and bed head in an un-grammared state i could trap you between capitalization and periods but i'll let you go because i've always secretly loved run- on sentences .
